A journalist’s account of the murder of Lucie Blackman is among those selected to run for this year’s Orwell Book Prize.

Richard Lloyd Parry wrote People Who Eat Darkness about her case – her father lives on the Isle of Wight.

Lucie had been working as a hostess in Tokyo when she disappeared in the year 2000.
Businessman Joji Obara was eventually convicted for charges surrounding her death as well as a number of other women.
