The Isle of Wight Council says it is working with Amey to ensure the waste contractor meets its contractual obligations after a partner organisation went into administration.
Energos, a sub contractor of Amey, is supposed to be supplying new thermal treatment (gasification) facilities at Forest Park, Forest Road, Newport. Energos fell into the hands of administrators earlier this month (July) leaving the future of those plans unclear. The Isle of Wight Council says:
“The Isle of Wight Council’s waste management contract requires its partner Amey to deliver a number of activities. To do this, Amey is to deliver a range of new facilities on the Island and is managing the design and construction elements of these facilities through a number of sub-contractors, including Energos. “The council understands the impact of this announcement affects only the thermal treatment part of the overall Forest Park site development programme and the council is working with Amey to identify how it proposes to deliver its contractual requirements.”
