Lola the Isle of Wight Zoo’s tiger has died, it has been announced.

Described as a “fiery, smart, sweet and elegant” character, Lola was rescued from a French circus and came to live on the Isle of Wight in 1999.

The Yaverland zoo says she had lived to be 19 yrs old and “will be remembered for her mental & physical agility.”
