If you’ve always fancied one-on-one time with national treasure and world renowned naturalist Sir David Attenborough, now could be your chance.
A hologram of Sir David will guide users inside a virtual reality (VR) world as part of a new experience designed by Sky in partnership with London’s Natural History Museum.
Using a VR headset and hand controls, it will allow aspiring naturalists to examine dinosaur fossils, bones and delicate insects while Sir David lends his words of wisdom.
The 90-year-old has teamed up with Sky to create the ground-breaking Hold The Word experience, which combines interactive game technology with TV documentary.
Sir David said: Hold The World offers people a unique opportunity: to examine rare objects, some millions of years old, up close. It represents an extraordinary new step in how people can explore and experience nature, all from the comfort of their own homes.
Director of the Natural History Museum Sir Michael Dixon said: We are always looking for innovative ways to share our collection, and Hold The World offers the chance to explore it as never before.
Objects in the museum collection offer invaluable insight about the origins of life, the Earth and our solar system – stories that are key to understanding how we can best protect our planet’s future.
The experience will be Sky’s first fully interactive production, appearing on the Sky VR app, and will be produced by content studio Factory 42.
