Six fire engines were among the emergency vehicles called to tackle a fire at a residental barn near Carisbrooke overnight.
A water carrier and the aerial ladder were also called to Bowcombe Road after flames swept through the building. Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue says no-one was inside.
Crews were called out just after 11.30pm last night (Wednesday).
They will return to the site today for an inspection.
It led to the closure of Bowcombe Road, between Carisbrooke and Shorwell, this morning. Diversions are in place via Chillerton.
Southern Vectis says route 12 buses are diverting via Chale Green.

Bowcombe Road has now reopened, according to Island Roads.

Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue have dealt with fire hotspots at the property this morning and an officer remains on scene with a building control officer from Isle of Wight Council.
