Isle of Wight Radio Broadcast Journalist

Would you to like join our award winning team?  Isle of Wight Radio is looking to recruit a Broadcast Journalist.

If you’d like the challenge of delivering news that isn’t generated by press releases, using social media and if you have a love for news, then this job could be for you.

You’ll need a real interest in news.  If you have experience of working in a newsroom, sound legal knowledge and the ability to produce and present compelling local news, both on air and online, then all the better.

You’ll need to be adept with new media, including social networking. The position involves reading bulletins, presenting our news programmes, being out on the road reporting, producing and researching news and co-presenting.  While it’s not essential, you will ideally hold a journalism-related qualification.

The successful candidate will need to be living on the Isle of Wight or be willing to re-locate to the Island. You will need to understand that being a journalist requires a flexible attitude to work hours, a keen eye for detail, the ability to work under pressure.

A full, clean UK Driving Licence is preferable.
