Isle Of Wight’s Island Games Team Adds To Medal Haul In Gotland

There was gold for the Isle of Wight Island Games Association's Dan Eckersley

There have been more medals for the Isle of Wight’s Island Games team, on day two.

The event is well underway in Gotland, Sweden.

Earlier, another gold medal was added in the women’s 25m Sports Pistol Event, while Dominic Cowen took bronze in the 100 Yards Prone Rifle competition. In all, the Island’s shooting team have managed three golds, two silvers and a bronze.

In athletics, Daniel Eckerlsey was “absolutely over the moon” to win gold in the men’s 3000m Steeplechase.

In swimming, there was a bronze for Chloe Plater in the women’s 400m Individual Medley.

The Isle of Wight currently lies sixth in the medals table.
