Godshill Primary School’s overall effectiveness ‘Requires Improvement’ according to the latest inspection by Ofsted.

The education watchdog says the school has dropped from its ‘Good’ rating.

In the report, it says ‘Leadership capacity has been weakened during a period of turbulence.’

The inspection took place in June.

It adds that ‘…leaders have not maintained previously good standards of teaching, learning and assessment across the school – and Governors did not act quickly enough to secure the support needed.’

It goes on to say ‘…parents are frustrated at what they see as poor communication about recent changes at the school.’

However, the report praises pupils behaviour and attitude – and says early years leadership is good.
