Ryde Rescue came to the aid of a person who had got into difficulty underneath Ryde Pier.
The crew was paged on Saturday morning at 2.37am – where they found a person who was in a very ‘awkward position’.
Ryde Rescue said that after trying to assist him into the boat, he unfortunately fell into the water.
The crew said he was quickly bought on board and rushed to Ryde Harbour where they were met by an ambulance and a waiting Coastguard shore team.
A Ryde Rescue spokesperson said:
“It was the first shout to our newest Coxswain and with his crew handled the situation without hesitation and resolved what could have been a job with a very different outcome very professionally.”
Ryde Rescue’s busy weekend continued as they helped and supported at the Ryde SLide event yesterday (Sunday).
