An Isle of Wight choir will be performing to raise funds for Grenfell Tower Fire victims tonight (Thursday)
The Medina Community Choir are holding a free gospel concert with a collection of donations at the end.
It’s being held to raise funds for families who have been affected by the fire at the 24-storey Grenfell Tower which happened on 14th June.
Hannah Brear, the musical director of the choir, says some members of the choir are from London and so she felt this was a wonderful cause:
“We’ve got some people in the fire who live in London and commute back from London. They’ve got a house on the Isle of Wight too. They were really affected by it and so we wanted to do something to show our support. The trauma kind of carries on, even though the fire’s gone now.”
The event will begin at 7:30 pm at the Baptist Church in Cowes, next to the fire station.
