A cheque for more than £200 has been handed over to Sandown and Shanklin Independent Lifeboat.
The money has been raised by staff and customers at the Salix Cafe on Small Hope Beach in Shanklin.
Coxswain of the lifeboat, Mark Birch, says every penny counts:
“Donations like this are absolutely vital to us. We are very grateful for the money which will be put to good use.
“It’s the busy season for us now and we have had a lot of call-outs already this summer.
“Our advice really to people is to enjoy a day at the beach, but be safe and be sensible. If you’re going in the sea, make sure you tell the people who you are with.”
