It’s the final countdown to the Isle of Wight’s first ever Cancer Research UK Relay for Life.

The 24 hour ‘Back To The 80’s’ themed event gets started at 12pm this Saturday (16), and carries on through the night. It’s being hosted at Smallbrook Stadium in Ryde, and is open to everyone.

Local Fundraising Manager, Stuart Amey has been telling Isle of Wight Radio what people can look forward to:

“Each Relay for Life is slightly different. For the Isle of Wight because of the contacts the committee have got it’s a very music-based event. They’ve got lots of different live bands coming on throughout the day, and through the night I’ve heard a rumour of karaoke.”

There will also be a silent disco and live performances from various tribute bands throughout the day and night.
