Sandown Carnival Launches 2024 Season

Broadlea Primary School pupils have been among hundreds of entrants helped to take part in parades

Sandown Carnival, in existence since 1889, has launched its latest carnival season.

Seven girls and boys have been chosen as the town’s 2024 Carnival Royalty and up to £300 is on offer to help people put together an entry in this summer's parades.

Sandown Carnival chair, Paul Coueslant, said:

"We’re proud to be one of the Island’s oldest carnivals and can’t wait to get our new season under way in July.

"We’re always keen to help anyone with a good idea for their parade entry and there’s still time to apply to the fund we make available each year."

Would-be entrants need to take part in two of the town’s 2024 parades and must apply by 4pm on Friday 27 May.
