Like the idea of a book club, but simply want to enjoy what you are reading and not have to worry about finishing it on time? Then Silent Book Club is for you!
Silent Book Club is often nicknamed the book club for introverts, and the East Cowes Chapter invites you to simply pop in between 5.30pm and 7.30pm with your own choice of book, e-reader or other reading material, relax and read quietly for a while and then chat to others about what they are reading, (or not - it's up to you!).
Silent Book Club started in San Francisco in 2012 and now there are more than 500 chapters in 50 countries around the world led by local volunteers.
Admission is FREE and the venue is fully accessible. There are inexpensive refreshments on sale with proceeds to registered charity MAD-Aid.
This session is held at the same time as the weekly MAD Scribblers Writers' and Illustrators' Cafe, so there may be local writers and artists working quietly on their own projects at the MAD-Aid DOT community room at the same time.
