A cruise liner will sail from Southampton past the Isle of Wight today, on a 12-night journey to commemorate the 1912 sinking of the Titanic.

Fred Olsen Cruise Line’s MS Balmoral has the same number of passengers as the “unsinkable” ship and will serve food from the menus of the White Star Liner.

A Belgian five-piece band will play period music and there will be a special memorial service on April 14, marking the moment Titanic hit the iceberg, and on April 15, 100 years after it sank.

Among the passengers are relatives of those who lost their lives.

Titanic sank on April 15 1912, with the loss of more than 1,500 people.
