A man suffered a broken ankle after a fight with a group of people in Cowes.

A 22-year-old man was walking home at around 1am on Saturday, when it appears he got involved in an exchange of words between two men and two women, who were sitting on a bench by the corner of Birmingham Road and Shooters Hill.

A fight broke out and the man suffered a cracked fibula and had to be taken to hospital.

Police are seeking to identify the two men and two women in relation to the incident.

The first man is described as white, with short dark hair, wearing a dark hooded jacket, jeans and trainers.

The second man was white, with short dark hair wearing a hoody with white ties and a Nike rucksack.

The two females were both white – one had long blonde hair and the other had long brown hair, wearing a dark jacket and dark coloured leggings.

Officers are appealing for anyone who was in the area at around the time to get in contact with them if they think they may have seen the incident involving the group.
