A man found dead on rocks at the foot of Culver Cliffs near Bembridge on the Isle of Wight yesterday afternoon is believed to be a local man in his 70s, according to Hampshire Constabulary.
Police say they are not in a position to release his details yet and there are no suspicious circumstances.
It is believed that the body had been position on the rocks for just a few hours at the time he was found but the full circumstances are still being confirmed through ongoing investigation.
A car belonging to the man was found in a car park near by.
Police say they are yet to locate any witnesses and officers would like to hear from anyone who may have seen a man in his 70s entering the fenced-off area at the top of the cliff sometime after 10.30am yesterday morning.
