A candlelight vigil will be held tonight (Monday) to mark 19 years since Isle of Wight teenager Damien Nettles disappeared.
“The boy who never came home” went missing after a night out with friends on 2 November 1996. At 10.30pm, the 16-year-old headed home via Cowes High Street . At 11.45pm, he was filmed by CCTV in Yorkie’s fish and chip shop and at 12.02am on 3 November, Damien was spotted by CCTV in the High Street. He never returned home and a murder case was opened in 2010. It remains open. You can read more about his case here. Friends and family with gather on The Green on Cowes seafront at 7.30pm. Organisers say battery-powered candles will be provided.
