Children from a school in Cowes have been chosen to visit the World Museum next week – to speak live to astronaut Major Tim Peake.
Youngsters from Year Three at Lanesend Primary School will be travelling to Liverpool, where they will be speaking to Tim via a video link. They were chosen from thousands of schools that entered a competition. Teacher, Graham Andre, says everyone at the school is excited:
“There’s just eleven schools in the country that have been chosen. The kids have loved watching the progress of Tim and seeing what he’s been up to in space. “We will be travelling to Liverpool and having a tour of the museum before speaking live to Tim. One of our pupils, Cadence, will be one of a handful of children who will personally get to speak to him. “We must say a big thank you to Red Funnel for providing us with free transport, otherwise it might not have been possible. It’s fantastic for everyone at the school and everyone is very excited.”
