The Isle of Wight’s own Olympian – Jess Andrews – will represent Team GB at the Rio 2016 Olympics this afternoon (Friday).
Former Sandown High School pupil, Jess Andrews, will compete in the women’s 10,000 metres final at 3.10pm (UK time). The 23-year-old qualified for the games earlier this year at the British 10,000m trials, beating her best time by 83 seconds to qualify for the Rio squad.
Thousands of people in Cowes last night (Thursday) cheering for Jess as she prepares for her big day at Rio 2016.
Jess will compete against 36 others in the 10,000m final including GB team mates Beth Potter and Jo Pavey.
Good luck Jess, from everyone at Isle of Wight Radio!
