An Island recording artist is looking to top the charts with her debut single which has been released today (Friday). Becky Gregory from Wootton, known in the music industry as BeX, has been working with Grammy Award winning songwriters and record producers to create her new single ‘Time to stop the rain’, which is on sale in shops, online and on iTunes. From the age of three, the singer went to Island dance schools and attended Shanklin Theatre’s Stage Coach. She went on to train at Stella Mann College in London, where she earned a diploma in Performing Arts and travelled the world working on various shows and productions. BeX decided to focus on her singing and songwriting talents where she was able to collaborate and work on projects, including supporting Olly Murs for a charity event. Renowned record producers, who have worked with the likes of The Manic Street Preachers, Mel C, Aretha Franklin, Earth Wind and Fire and Liberty X has been working with the Island-born star to create her sound. BeX said:

“We chose this single [Time To Stop The Rain]  because it’s about a journey…when I write songs I like people to be able to interpret them how they want to as well but for me this is like a journey, the beginning of something, it’s a bit of a roller coaster. “I went to Shanklin Theatre and did Stage Coach… I used to do the productions and the shows and that’s when I got a taste for it…having that for the Island is great…and I think it’s great what they do over there… “I think if anybody wants to go on and do things like that I would recommend that, especially when you’re young, you learn your craft…and if you want to take it further then go for it.”

Her album is due for release in early 2017.
