Cowes Week Ltd have unveiled their new title sponsor for the next three years.
Lendy is a Southsea based company and Europe’s leading peer to peer secured property lending platform.
The deal will see the newly named Lendy Cowes Week continue as one of the world’s best known sailing regattas and help boost the Island’s economy.
Lendy Cowes Week runs from 29 July until 5 August and attracts up to 1000 yachts to the Solent and tens of thousands of spectators to Cowes to enjoy the racing and the shoreside entertainment on the Parade and at Cowes Yacht Haven.
However, the team at Lendy Cowes Week were remaining tight lipped as to whether the famous Friday night firework display would take place this year.
Kate Johnson from Cowes Week Ltd said:
“As you can imagine, with only 51 days to go, as we announce this partnership, we’ve got a lot of plans to put in place and you can guarantee that Paul [Riddell] and I are going to be working very hard over the next 51 days. We are really hoping that we are able to put on a fireworks display this year, I know Lendy are very supportive of that and we will make an announcement in due course.”
Lendy take over from Aberdeen Asset Management, whose partnership with Cowes Week came to an end last year.
Liam Brooke, Co-Founder and Director of Lendy Ltd said:
“We at Lendy Ltd are extremely proud to announce our title sponsorship of one of the world’s premier sailing regattas, now reborn as Lendy Cowes Week.
