A public order incident is being investigated by police on the Isle of Wight.


Police on the Island are appealing for anyone who was in the St James’ Street area of Newport on Monday at around 2.45pm and might have seen something, to come forward.

Isle of Wight Radio has asked Hampshire Constabulary for more details on the incident.

*Hampshire Constabulary says officers received a report that between 2pm and 3pm, a man shouted ‘racially offensive’ remarks towards a group of people on St James’ Street.

*Officers would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident.
