More than a hundred people are without water while a burst water main is fixed.
It’s said to be causing heavy traffic along Fairlee Road this morning (Thursday).
Southern Water has told Isle of Wight Radio they are aware of the issue and have sent a team to fix the problem:
“Traffic management, including temporary traffic lights, will be in place to ensure we can carry out this work as quickly and safely as possible. At present we hope to limit a closure to just one lane of the road to help the flow of traffic.
Our dedicated team are working hard to bring any affected customers back into supply and we will keep people updated as this work progresses.”
Southern Water is asking drivers to be patient while the work is carried out.
Around 136 properties will have their water supply shut off during the repairs.
