A stricken Russian vessel, the Mekhanik Yartsev, which sparked a rescue operation when it began listing off the Isle of Wight, will be taken to a berth in Southampton Harbour, says the Maritime and Coastguard Agency.

The crew of Bembridge RNLI lifeboat are among those on the scene (according to live shipping data) after the incident, reported earlier today (Tuesday) by Isle of Wight Radio.

It is reported the 2,500-tonne ship was sailing from Riga, Latvia, to Warrenpoint, Northern Ireland.
