Elderly and disabled Isle Of Wight residents could soon have to pay more for their care.

Changes to the cost of care packages will be voted on by the Island’s cabinet members tomorrow (Thursday).

If approved, people living at home and receiving Attendance Allowance, Disability Living Allowance or Personal Independence Payments (PIP) will have to pay more for their care.

Results from a public consultation launched last year found that the majority of people were not in favour of the changes, and yesterday (Tuesday) the majority the Scrutiny Committee opposed the plans.
