The Royal Navy’s new aircraft carrier – HMS Queen Elizabeth – has sailed past the Isle of Wight into Portsmouth this morning (Tuesday).

The 65,000 tonne vessel has been carrying out sea trials in recent weeks.
The Royal Navy has tweeted to say it is returning to Portsmouth to install further equipment, before receiving its first fast jets later this year.
Royal Marines have also been on board where they have been conducting training.
