An Isle of Wight woman is trying to find a way back to the UK after a skiing accident in Bulgaria last week left her with a broken pelvis.
Jacqui Skeel has described the hospital where she is being treated as “filthy…awful…horrible” and says her insurance company is not doing enough to help. Alpha Travel Insurance says it is making arrangements.

Jacqui Skeel was injured in two separate collisions with other skiers on the slopes of Borovets, about an hour and twenty minutes from the Bulgarian capital Sofia.
She has told Isle of Wight Radio that, after five nights in hospital, her insurance company has yet to tell her when she will be brought home.
Jacqui, who works for the Isle of Wight NHS Trust, was transferred to hospital in nearby Samokov after her accident. She says facilities there are unacceptable and are not suitable for her injury.

In a statement to Isle of Wight Radio, a spokesperson from Emergency Assistance Facilities (which provides emergency assistance for Alpha Insurance) said:
“We are sorry to hear of Miss Skeel’s current situation in Bulgaria. We are assisting her and her family as much as possible and making arrangements for her repatriation back to the Isle of Wight.”
