Residents in St Helens are today (Thursday) being invited to find out more about a potential development in the village.
A public exhibition is being held to display draft proposals for a development on land at Guildford Park, just off Guildford Road.
The plan shows houses being built on green space. Details on the number of properties or what they will cost are expected to be revealed at the exhibition, but a diagram on a poster advertising the event (see below) suggests there could be up to 45 dwellings.
The land sought for this development is situated north of St Helen’s Medical Centre. This has already been prompting some Islanders to question if the surgery could cope with an increase in population.
Those who attend the exhibition will be able to speak to planning consultants and designers and are invited to comment on the proposals, which will then be considered by the developers before anything is finalised, according to the organisers. There’ll also be comment sheets and a submission box.
It will be happening at the Community Centre on Guildford Road between 2 pm and 8 pm.
