Medina Yard

The Harrison Trust’s plans to develop Medina Yard in Cowes will be considered by the Isle of Wight Council’s planning committee tomorrow night (Tuesday) and a local business owner is among those urging Councillors to consider the scheme’s impact on marine employment.

Ben Board, from Cowes firm Seaflex, says he is worried that historic and unique land will be lost to the boat building and marine industry and says that if all the schemes for Cowes and East Cowes were considered together, there would be space for all the ideas that are currently on the table.

He is not alone. Hear Isle of Wight Radio speaking to Ben, to East Cowes Councillor Karl Love and to Cowes Harbour Master Captain Stuart Mackintosh:

Isle of Wight Radio has asked for a comment from the Isle of Wight Council, which says it unable to provide due to its commitments as a planning authority. The Harrison Trust has not provided us with a comment.
