As pupils return from their Easter break, an interim head will be in place to oversee the Isle of Wight’s Christ The King school.
After 44 years in education, former head Pat Goodhead retired before the break.
In a letter to parents at the end of last month she said:
“…the time is right for me to retire. I have enjoyed 44 years in education, the past fourteen of which have been spent working with the most amazing young people, dedicated staff and supportive community that I could ever have wished for. My final few days have been indescribable…students and staff have celebrated my retirement with me and, at the same time, have left me with the secure knowledge that they are determined, committed and confident to continue taking Christ the King College on the next stage of its journey.”
The school is facing a debt running into millions of pounds.
