A children’s soft play centre, in Newport on the Isle of Wight, has closed for around a month.

It is after a water main burst on the Dodnor Park industrial estate burst on 30 January, flooding the business. You can see a video and read Isle of Wight Radio’s report from the time here.

JR Zone said in a statement said,

“We managed to open on a hardship basis on the weekend of 3rd February and very much hoped that we could dry out, repair and replace as required to be fully operational without further closure. Unfortunately, the floor has simply refused to dry out and we have now, reluctantly, had to make the decision to close so we can strip all the floors and bring in heavy duty drying equipment to dry out the floor slab.”

It has thanked families affected by the closure for their cooperation and says it plans to reopen on 12 May.
