It’s claimed 98 per cent of police officers who voted in a poll have no confidence in the Police And Crime Commissioner Michael Lane.

Hampshire Police Federation chief John Apter posed the question last week – with more than 1,600 replies – though it can’t be enforced.

It follows concerns about how cash raised through council tax is being spent, with Mr Lane allegedly saying he would not be investing anymore money in frontline policing.

Mr Lane’s reported as saying more than 98 per cent of his budget’s invested in policing.
