Yorkshire captain Gary Ballance is to take a break away from cricket because of "personal reasons".

England international Ballance did not feature in the recent County Championship defeat to Surrey and was not included in the one-day squad to face Durham on Friday.

Yorkshire have confirmed that they have granted the 28-year-old time away from the game.

A statement released by the club on Friday read: Captain Gary Ballance is set to miss several Royal London One-Day Cup fixtures after the Club, this week, granted him some time away from the game due to personal reasons.

We ask that his privacy be respected during this time.
