Isle Of Wight Zoo’s “Love And Ice Cream” Tribute To Lioness Nahla

Nahla has died at the Isle of Wight Zoo

The Isle of Wight Zoo has said goodbye to lioness Nahla, who has died aged 20 years old.

The Yaverland-based charity says she had suffered a very short illness and died as the result of an aggressive cancer of the soft tissue.

A popular character, Nahla had lived to twice the age of an average wild lion and “lived a long life filled with love, ice cream, playfulness and admiration”, said the zoo in a tribute to her on Saturday.
