Firefighters are tackling a fire in a residential street in Shanklin.

Thick black smoke can be seen billowing into the air from several miles around.
It is understood two sheds and trees are on fire in Wilton Park Road.
Three fire engines are on route to the incident, which was reported at 12.03pm. Shanklin fire are already there.
Wilton Park Road has been closed.
Southern Vectis says its Route 3 will serve Arthur’s Hill and Atherley Road to Shanklin Railway Station in both directions.

*The Incident Command Unit is also on scene. The fire is believed to be under control.
The cause of the fire was an unattended bonfire which spread to sheds and a tree, according to the fire service.
