A vehicle fire had to put out near Halfords in Newport this morning (Weds).

Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue says they were called to the car park of the retailer at 9.45 am.

Staff at the store used a foam extinguisher to put out the flames whilst they waited for the fire service.

Firefighters say a hose reel jet was used to cool the vehicle and the damaged area.
