Two people have been injured after a light aircraft crashed near to Bembridge Airport this afternoon (Thursday).
Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue says a Cessna light plane came down around 4 pm.
One pilot and one passenger have sustained injuries, according to Hampshire Constabulary.
Two air ambulances are at the incident along with the Air Accident Investigation Bureau.
A spokesperson from the ambulance service says it’s likely the pair will be flown to the mainland.
Sandown Road is closed at its junction at Hill Way to its junction with The Propeller Inn.
