An Isle of Wight man’s Imperial March to Paris has raised more than £8,000 for Layla’s Trust.

Isle of Wight stormtrooper and fundraiser Ben Allen, and his intergalactic team, successfully walked all the way from Cowes to Paris in aid of the Isle of Wight charity earlier this year.

Now they are celebrating smashing their £4,000 target, and have handed over a cheque worth a grand total of £8,149.

Ben said:

“Doubling our target was amazing – fantastic. It’s brilliant Layla’s trust and the guys who run it are just fantastic people who are so completely dedicated to their goal, and just from doing his little walk to Paris and all of this Island money coming in – it’s great to see this local charity getting fantastic Island backing.”

He added:

“We started this in 2016 and we never had it in mind to be so successful and for people to get behind it so much. So yeah, we kind of feel obliged to keep it running now.  We will be making it an annual event. We do have plans for next year and even the year after.”
