A person has been pulled from the water in Cowes this evening (Monday), according to the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.

Two ambulances and the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance is currently on scene.

The Isle of Wight Ambulance Service was called out at 4.54pm.

A woman has been airlifted to hospital, according to police.


A police spokesperson said:

“If you are in Cowes you may have seen some police activity down on the beach by Queens Road.

“We were called just before 5pm regarding concerns for the welfare of a woman in the water.

“Officers arrived and began treating the woman who had been helped out of the water.

“She has been airlifted to Southampton General Hospital for treatment.

“Thanks to those who assisted our officers down on the beach.”
