Ambulance and coastguard crews are attending a medical emergency near Cowes this lunchtime (Friday).
A person has been pulled from the water.
Two ambulances are currently en route, according to the Isle of Wight Ambulance Service.
In a statement, HM Coastguard said:
“HM Coastguard is currently coordinating a response following a MAYDAY reporting a person in the water north of Osborne Bay shortly after 10.30 this morning. Cowes RNLI lifeboat has been sent along with Ventnor Coastguard Rescue Team and the HM Coastguard search and rescue helicopter from Lee-on-Solent is also on scene. The person was pulled out of the water by a passing vessel and escorted by the lifeboat to shore. The casualty has been passed into the care of the Isle of Wight ambulance service.”

One person is currently in hospital after being pulled from the water in Cowes.
Isle of Wight Ambulance Service says they were called to the incident at 11.52 am.
