Island Con organisers are asking fans to be patients over refunds after the American Pie cast pulled out of October’s event.

In a message on social media, Island Con says it is seeking replacement guests for the event on 20-21 October.

It said,

“Very sad news for our American Pie fans, unfortunately due to circumstances outside of our control, the American Pie cast will not be appearing at the event. But fear not as we are working around the clock to seek replacement guests right now so expect further guest additions in the next few days!

“We still have a massive guest list and so much going on and with more guests still to be added there’s a lot to look forward to.

“We understand that fans of the American Pie cast will be upset, we have tried to mitigate this as much as possible with new guests coming soon so please bear with us as this is taking up a lot of time!

“We are upset also, as any guest loss is challenging and we really wanted to meet these guys! We just want to get on organising the event and we are only human (mostly) at the end of the day so please refrain from personal attacks towards our staff as has happened since the previous cancellations.”

Organisers say there are no general entry ticket refunds and they are dealing with around 700 photo opportunity and autograph refunds.

Earlier this week, Stranger Things star Sean Astin pulled out.

Island Con organisers said,

“WE will send an EMAIL to everyone who has purchased an American Pie individual or group pre-order option, as not everyone is on social media. There will be a choice of REFUND or STORE CREDIT. Please confirm this choice by reply. Please allow 72 hrs from now for all emails to be sent. Thank you for your patience.”
