Isle of Wight’s Cancer Research UK Relay For Life is still calling on people to take part.
The event’s taking place from 12 pm at Smallbrook Stadium in Ryde tomorrow (Saturday) and is being held to raise money for Cancer Research.
Participants will work in teams to walk around the relay track (at any pace) for 24-hours.
Event co-ordinator Toby Brown says the event’s happening overnight because unlike people, cancer never sleeps.
He says the money will go to a very worthy cause:
“We’re very lucky that with the Relay For Life we’re able to decide where the money goes. So the money will go to Southampton oncology unit which is obviously where we would all go and where many of our family or friends have been. So it’s special for that in my mind.”
Relay For Life is completely free to enter. If you want to sign up a team, you can click here.
The event will conclude at 12 pm on Sunday (16).
