The organiser of the Isle of Wight Festival has said he would love to see Kylie Minogue and U2 playing at the event.

John Giddings has whet the appetite of festival fans by saying he would welcome Kylie and her array of top hits to Seaclose Park.

He also said he would like to put a ‘super-group’ together with people like Noel Gallagher and Paul Weller.

In an interview with the Daily Star, John said:

“I’d like to make another Travelling Wilburys, updated with people like Noel Gallagher, Paul Weller and John Power from Cast.

“I just need an event to bring them together.”

The Isle of Wight has been nominated for Best Festival at this year’s Q Awards.

John added:

“I would love Kylie. I think she could headline because she has the songs.”

John’s previously described U2 as the ‘best folk band in the world.’

The Isle of Wight Festival 2019 takes place 13-16 June. More details here.
