Islanders are being warned to watch out for a new lottery letter scam asking residents to “send money to win money”.

Trading Standards says people may be receiving letters from either the Health Lottery or the Postcode Lottery claiming they’ve won a sum of money.

The letters, in question, are personally addressed and made to look genuine.

A spokesperson for Trading Standards says residents should remain vigilant:

“Remember if you haven’t bought a ticket you can’t win and you should never have to send money to win money. If in doubt contact the organisation independently using a number or address that you have found yourself.”
