One man has been arrested – and another is in hospital – following an incident in Freshwater this morning (Saturday).

Hampshire Constabulary says it was called to two men causing a “disturbance” at a home on Tennyson Road at 5.17am.

After it was reported that the men had left the incident, officers searched the area.

A 37-year-old man was located at Totland Bay and arrested on suspicion of harassment. Police say he remains in custody at this time.

Another man, a 31-year-old, was found to have gone into the sea off the derelict Totland Pier, as reported by Isle of Wight Radio.

He was subsequently taken to hospital.
