A number of tools have reportedly been stolen from a school in Newport.

Staff at St George’s School have said that a petrol lawn mower, a leaf blower, a hedge trimmer and strimmer, a shredder and a pressure washer have all been taken.

The tools are used by youngsters in their vocational learning programmes, which help to develop life skills and promote their independence and confidence.

The school, on Watergate Lane, teaches children with a range of learning disabilities and educational needs.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.


*A Hampshire Constabulary spokesperson said:

“Staff at the school reported that sheds had been broken into overnight on 5 November.

“Two sheds were entered and garden equipment was stolen.

“Enquiries are ongoing.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting 44180417269.”
