Wessex Cancer Trust is hosting the Island’s first and you’re all invited!

The charity will be screening six epic festive films over two days on a giant LED screen in aid of their £100,000 appeal to create a new cancer centre for the Isle of Wight.

From the comfort of your own car you will be able to see Christmas classics such as Elf and Home Alone, family favourites such as The Polar Express and Santa Claus the Movie or feel-good rom coms such as Love Actually and The Holiday.

The event, sponsored by WightFibre, takes place in the top car park at Robin Hill on December 1st and 2nd.

The charity’s Community Engagement Manager, Lorraine White, said: “Following the incredible success of the summer’s Rainbow Run, which has now raised more than £35,000, we knew our next fundraiser had to be something special, so when we came up with the idea of hosting a drive-in Christmas cinema featuring everyone’s favourite festive films, we were really excited. We are especially thankful for the support of WightFibre, who have helped make our dream a reality.

“This is the perfect opportunity to cosy up in the car with your family, while watching a Christmas classic and raising money for Islanders affected by cancer in the process – it doesn’t get much better than that.”

Food vans will also be on hand to provide a festive feast for cinema-goers and there will be a licensed bar selling mulled wine and other festive beverages.
