A brand-new ferry, built by Isle of Wight firm Wight Shipyard, has been launched in East Cowes.
The Twin City Cruise Liner was originally due to set sail last Friday (30) but the launch was cancelled due to high winds.
The 39m Passenger Catamaran is designed to carry 249 passengers and four crew members.
It will run on the River Danube between Vienna and Bratislava – joining the two European capital cities.
Wight Shipyard’s Chief Operating Officer Jo Daly said:
“The launch went to plan, the Twin City Ferry was lifted into the Medina by the Giant Cranes, the ferry will now start two weeks of commissioning and sea trial, ready for hand over to her new owners in the new year.”
