A sailor – who previously worked as an instructor on the Isle of Wight – has been rescued 50 hours after her yacht was destroyed in a storm.
As reported by Isle of Wight Radio, Susie Goodall had to send a distress beacon after she got into some difficulty in the Pacific Ocean this week.
At the time, the 29-year-old had been in fourth place in the 30,000 miles Golden Globe Race.
She has now tweeted to say she has been saved by a cargo ship, more than two days after her boat capsized:
ON THE SHIP!!!
